R.Power has successfully energized the Nehrybka BESS project, the company’s first operational battery energy storage system in Poland. Located near Przemyśl, the facility is directly integrated with a photovoltaic farm, making it R.Power’s first hybrid PV + BESS installation. The project is fully commercial, operating without any subsidies or public support, and already delivering market-based services, including wholesale arbitrage.
The Nehrybka BESS facility will provide a wide range of services to the Polish power system. Beyond wholesale arbitrage on the day-ahead and intraday markets, it will be able to deliver ancillary services such as frequency containment, frequency restoration, and reserve capacity. The system will also support local grid stability by offering voltage regulation, reactive power compensation, and other services for distribution network operators. By delivering this flexibility, the installation will enhance security of supply, enable a higher penetration of renewables, and help balance an increasingly dynamic energy system.
The Nehrybka BESS facility was constructed by NOMAD Electric, acting as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) provider.

“This is a very important project for R.Power — our first operational battery system in Poland and a pilot that confirms our competence in energy storage. We are now moving forward with the deployment of a series of much larger projects, which will significantly strengthen grid flexibility and support the Polish and European energy transition,” said Przemek Pięta, CEO and Founder of R.Power.

“Nehrybka is also our first hybrid project. We have gained invaluable knowledge on how to seamlessly integrate photovoltaics with battery energy storage. Our next step is to optimize energy production so that it can be delivered to the grid at times of highest demand. BESS is the future of renewable energy, and we are building that future today,” said Paweł Czaus, CEO of Nomad Electric.
In Poland, R.Power is now preparing the deployment of its mid-term BESS portfolio, which includes large-scale projects in locations such as Herby (10 MWh), Jedwabno (300 MWh), Tursko Wielkie (1,000 MWh) and Gdańsk (1,000 MWh). Beyond Poland, the company is also advancing the Scornicesti project in Romania (254 MWh). Together, these developments represent several hundred megawatts and multiple gigawatt-hours of new storage capacity, positioning R.Power among the frontrunners in hybrid and standalone energy storage across Central and Eastern Europe.
